We have an exciting opportunity for a driven and enthusiastic Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. This role will be permanent part time.

Skills and Experience

  • Computer skills (MS Office) and a professional phone manner are essential.

  • Highly organized

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Ability to multi task

  • Be solutions oriented

  • Be willing to assist in safely restraining and handling animals with a fear free approach if the need arises

  • Healthcare or Veterinary reception experience is desirable but not essential.

  • A Certificate II or III in Animal Studies and experience with Office 365 would be advantageous but not essential

  • Experience with veterinary software and/or a veterinary hospital environment will be advantageous

Role and Responsibilities

You will be expected to:

  • Assist the Vets and Vet Nurses in providing the best care possible for our patients and their owners

  • Follow our proven processes and signature systems to ensure our clients reach their optimal goals for their pets’ health and wellbeing.

  • Administrative work including: managing a booking schedule, managing phone enquiries, responding to emails, liasing with veterinary colleagues and veterinary referrers, organizing office space, data input, filling out forms, banking and working with medical records and invoices.

  • Soak up everything you can from all your team colleagues, whether they be clinicians, admin support or cleaners. Take on their constructive feedback with grace, but also bring your knowledge and skills to us so we can learn from you!

  • Bring passion and positive energy to the workplace. This needs to complement a high level of professionalism with both colleagues and clients. Let us know if there is something you aren’t sure of or need help with. We are your cheerleaders, not your judge.

This role is a part time position that reports directly to the Practice Owner, while also working closely with other members of the team.

We are a well established, and progressive practice known for delivering excellent patient outcomes in a warm and friendly environment.  With over 10 years of history we are continuing to expand our services due to a popular following amongst patients, veterinary referrers, strong networks and an excellent community reputation.

Our practice is at the forefront of integrative veterinary practice in Western Australia, providing an opportunity to work in one of WA’s first practices offering rehab and hydrotherapy services in addition to traditional veterinary services.  We provide a positive workplace, in a stimulating learning environment, with fantastic clientele.  

Our patients and their best outcome is our primary focus, and providing individual treatment plans rather than a “one size fits all” approach to their veterinary care underpins everything that we do.  With that in mind, medicines and products are chosen based on the patient’s best interests, rather than what may provide the clinic with the most reward benefits.

The Team:

We are a close-knit team who celebrate each other’s wins and are there to support each other.  Our meeting rhythm makes all the difference.  1:1 catch ups every 2-3 weeks, regular team meetings, daily client briefings, and regular acknowledgement of individual and team achievements.
